World of Warcraft - Cataclysm Updates

Blizzard already confirm that Cataclysm is indeed the newest expansion of World of Warcraft. And here's a list of Cataclysm updates so far.

• Two new races - Choose between the cursed worgen with the Alliance or the resourceful goblins with the Horde
• Level Cap Raised to 85 - Earn new abilities, tap into new talents, and progress through the path system, a new way for players to improve characters.

Characters and Events

Deathwing

Deathwing the Destroyer / Neltharion the Earth-Warder will play a major role in Cataclysm. Having been driven mad by Old God whisperings and turning against his own kind only to be fail in his attempts, Deathwing has sunk into the shadows. While the Horde and the Alliance were busy fighting back the Burning Legion only to then be beset with the Scourge, he has been lurking and moving things into place. After Lady Sinestra's failed attempts to create a Twilight Dragonflight, he again retreated to Grim Batol and succeeded where she failed. With his results seen in the Obsidian Sanctum, he has finally created the supreme Dragonflight he sought and plans to unleash it upon the world. But what of the Old Gods' sway over him?

Azshara

Queen Azshara will also play a major part in Cataclysm. Unknown to many mortal races, long forgotten by others, and believe to be dead by her own kind, she has not been dormant in depths of the Maelstrom. Having those around her transformed by the Old Gods into Naga after her failure in the War of the Ancients, she has become far more powerful and a greater threat than she once was. Not content with just Nazjatar and the depths of the sea, Azshara seeks to reclaim power and reign once again. With the true plan behind Lady Vashj's support of Illidan remaining a mystery we do not know what hand Azshara has yet played. The big question remains, is she now serving her "saviors", the Old Gods?

The Cataclysm

I'm still not sure who is the true end boss of Cataclysm is, but the cataclysm appears to have been caused by attempts to incantation to summon extremely powerful beings using an ancient incantation by Deathwing and Azshara. They're both very powerful, but the cataclysm itself suggests something more powerful is behind it, perhaps their shared past of Old God influence?

The Guardian of Tirisfal

Malfurion Stormrage will be returning to Azeroth to aid in the creation of the new Guardian of Tirisfal - Thrall! Med'an's role in these events is currently unknown.

The New (New) Horde

Thrall will hand over the leadership of the Horde to Garrosh Hellscream, while he serves as a coordinator for both the Horde and Alliance forces in and effort to combat the new threat of the Naga and Black Dragonflight. Without Thrall to keep Garrosh in check, he declares open war on the Alliance. In the political upheaval Cairne Bloodhoof is implicated as a traitor to the Horde and murdered by Garrosh. Cairne's son Baine takes over as the new Tauren chieftan. This could explain why Baine was removed from the game in Patch 3.2.2.

The Sims 3 Expansion Pack - World Adventures

After EA released The Sims 3 in June. Now they have announced that they will release The Sims 3 Expansion Pack November 16, 2009. The expansion titled is - World Adventures.

This sims 3 expansion pack gives you the opportunity to have the exciting feeling of adventuring around the world. You can choose to visit many artificial cities like Shang Simla in China, Al Simhara in Egypt, and Champs Les Sims in France. And not only that EA team also create other exciting new activities such as learning new skill, creating new styles, meet new sims, even discovering secret treasure! This expansion offer a very intriguing series of quests that we all love.

Here's a brief explanation from the General Manager of The Sims :

"Players will be able to take their Sims on the adventure of a lifetime and explore lands outside of Sunset Valley and Riverview, pursue thrilling new life destinies in locations around the world inspired by famous destinations, and immerse themselves in the open-ended gameplay where they'll discover new cities in China, France, and Egypt, and share new stories."

Batman Arkham Asylum Date Release

Batman Arkham Asylum Date Release has been confirmed. The demo for Xbox 360 is held on 7th August and making a pretty great review. The graphic are satisfying, it open with introductory video that play a summary plot where Batman locked in Looney Town. It had a very good camera angle which making it a seamless play. But too bad the lip syncronisizing is a little bit disturbing because it's not match with the sound. But the gameplay itself quite amusing it consist of mashing button movement, while some think it's lame but you should try it yourself.

So to sum it all Batman Arkham Asylum is definitely a worth to wait game a make sure you catch this Batman Arkham Asylum Date release for the full version in August 25 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, and September 15 for PC.

Behind Starcraft 2 Release Date Being Delayed

Starcraft 2 release date is officially being delayed until 2010. This could be a good news aside from its controversy for having no LAN. That way this most awaited online games sequel can be more well prepared or maybe it can get more controversy by the time it's going to be released. So what's behind this Starcraft 2 release date being delayed?

Here's what Blizzard's Press Release Team said :

Over the past couple of weeks, it has become clear that it will take longer than expected to prepare the new Battle.net for the launch of the game. The upgraded Battle.net is an integral part of the StarCraft II experience and will be an essential part of all of our games moving forward. This extra development time will be critical to help us realize our vision for the service.

Our mission is to develop games that deliver an epic entertainment experience. As part of that commitment, we will always take as much time as needed to ensure that our games and services meet the expectations of our players and the standard for quality that we set for ourselves as developers. As we work to make Battle.net the premier online gaming destination, we’ll also continue to polish and refine StarCraft II, and we look forward to delivering a real-time strategy gaming experience worthy of the series’ legacy in the first half of 2010.

Well, a delay of Starcraft 2 release date can harm no one. It probably for the best. We'll see..

World of Warcraft Movie - Is It Going to be Spectacular or Disappointing?

World of Warcraft Movie will soon get into the big screen. as it's already predicted that WoW eventually following the other game like Halo, The Sims, Uncharted, and God of the War that already get into pre-production pace.

This world's most subscribed MMORPG made by Blizzard Entertainment entrust its film making on the hand of a successful world director - Sam Raimi. This news has already been confirmed at the Blizzard's Press Release page. Sam Raimi mentioning that he is really thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen.

While most of the World of Warcraft fans excited to wait for the forces of the Horde and the Alliance became life in an epic live-action movie, others are a bit pessimist on the result of the movie. They said that game based movies never turns out well, and they were hoping that this idea of making World of Warcraft movie idea falls apart and eventually will not make it to the big screen.

Well, who knows.. Perhaps in the hand of Sam Raimi that myth will fall and making World of Warcraft not only the world's most subscribed MMORPG but also making World of Warcraft Movie get into the box office.
